‘Me, my Scent’ is an experiment about identity: If you could smell the perfume of your digital identity, would you recognize yourself? Big data and artificial intelligence have been used to reach an olfactive formula, a perfume that would expresses the digital identity of artist Michele Tiberio. The perfume "ME, MY SCENT" tells of a contemporary identity that oscillates between introversion and extroversion, which lives a gender fluidity in which masculine and feminine are present in a non-binary way, and alternating between intellect, technology and nature.

The pyramid sees an aromatic spicy opening, with some cinnamon introducing a floral yet nostalgic heart made of jasmine and vetivert. The bottom is structured, intense and complex with resins, patchouli, musks. Finally, to remember that we are human, even if living a hybrid life, there is a drop of beaver, that recalls the instinct and the animalistic side.

This perfume is part of the artwork, Me, my scent, 2019 that is composed of a book with all the data of the artist’s (Michele Tiberio) digital life, then it is analyzed with an artificial intelligence and the algorithm creates a perfume that represents the artist’s digital identity.

All the data collected in a more-than-1500-page book, showing the activity on social media like Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, or on his phone. Such catalogue shows how what we believe to be an abstract reality, that is the virtual cyberspace of our social profiles is true and interact with the physical world. It is an almost tangible space, where our opinions leave a footprint and it challenges our idea of privacy in our society. The "ME, MY SCENT" project won the Re-Humanism 2019 art and artificial intelligence award.
